We preach god like anything. We share our everyday dejection and happiness with god, and always believe in karma and never try to iconoclast the image of god. But when it comes to giving a verdict on the existence of god, suddenly the theophobia all vanishes. And we get into a deep thought which turns us into a skeptic one.
Currently it is happening with the Supreme Court in Ayodhya case. It is been 26 years, when the Babri Masjid got demolished. It was built by Mir Baqi on the order of the Mughal emperor Babar in 1528-29, styled by a Tuglaq architect. Contrary to this, Hindus view Ayodhya as a birth place of Lord Ram, and as per Hindus, there was a Ram temple in that place which was demolished by Babar to construct mosque. And whether it is HC or SC, both are abstaining from this and giving an equivocal statement. On one hand, it permitted Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) to perform Shilanyas (stone- laying ceremony) and on the other hand, it denied appeal to build Ram temple and told to maintain status quo. In 2010 Allahabad HC gave a verdict to distribute it into three regions first is temple, second is mosque and third is Nirmohi akhada. It was an ambivalent verdict, people weren't satisfied, so they dragged this case to SC. While political parties are exploiting this case for their agendas. They are playing with the sentiments of devotees. They are pretending to be in a great dilemma, but they have been ignoring this case since 18BC to avoid riots. In 1989, Mr. Rajeev Gandhi unlocked the doors of mosque for Hindus to establish Ram & Sita's sculpture. From these events, it is crystal clear that neither SC nor government is sticking to one side. Crores of people fix their eye on this case, these waiting eyes are gaining senescent, but SC have a cavalier attitude.
Vanguards should have a chutzpah to stand by the side which is morally justified, without agitating about the outcomes. There is a threat of riots and destruction of communal harmony, but that doesn't mean that they should procrastinate the decision. If it is confirmed that violence will follow someday, then why to wait for tomorrow? It is better to take the decision now, than to unnecessarily delaying it.
